Membership

Membership in the Pointe au Baril Islanders' Association first and foremost supports the efforts of this volunteer organization to keep Pointe au Baril safe and serene for all those who wish to enjoy the island area.  deer

The Association is responsible for:

  • overseeing some 300 local channel markers and two warning lights to the tune of over $7000 per year for the boating safety of all who navigate our waters,
  • maintaining public firepumps,
  • overseeing both the financial and administrative duties of the Marine Patrol,
  • providing off-season inspections to all its members
  • providing an important voice for all ratepayers in our area and attending the semi-annual Deer Horn Conference to meet the ever growing needs of our municipality
  • communicating with its members on a consistent basis
  • creating an annual yearbook for its members with information, reports and listings
  • providing sailing races on a weekly basis
  • holding a junior and a senior regatta for all to enjoy
  • developing strong committees to keep the membership informed
  • providing the Ojibway Naturalist
  • maintaining membership with the Georgian Bay Association
  • Periodically publish a map of the area

To Join Pointe au Baril Islanders' Association 

A person or family that joins by the middle of March will be listed in that year’s yearbook, double click the New Member Registration Form, your may either fill out the form on line and print it out for mailing or print out the blank form on your printer and fill it out by hand..  Please fill out the form entirely, write a $175 cheque to PaBIA, place it in an envelope with the completed registration form and mail to PaBIA, C/o Nancy Rogers, Secretary,  38 Elora Drive Unit #1, Hamilton, Ontario  L9C 7K3.     Anyone who joins after March 15th will receive all the benefits of the organization but will not be listed in the yearbook until the following year.

To Renew Membership 

To renew membership in the Islanders' Association, please double click:  Renewal Membership Registration Form, print the form, fill out your name and property number and ANY CHANGES you wish to make in the Yearbook or our records.  You may fill the form out on line and then print it for mailing or you can print out the blank form and fill it out by hand.  Then place a cheque for $175 in an envelope with the form and mail to PaBIA, C/o Nancy Rogers, Secretary, 38 Elora Drive Unit #1, Hamilton, Ontario  L9C 7K3.
