Flying Scot Race Week - July 25-27  9:30 to 1:30
Scot Regatta Race July 29th

Class attendees and faculty are requested to arrive promptly at 0930h at the Dean's cottage (A27) on Barclay Island Upper Shawanaga.

This is an excellent way of honing your abilities at all things Scot, and by extension to other boats, including, starting, mark roundings, and getting the feel of the helm, under the gentle guidance of expert sailors. Following the on the water skills program will be a light lunch, with a question and answer period. Scot School is an excellent program for all levels.

IMPORTANT NOTE- ALL levels and ages are welcome, and we encourage those with inhibitions, and nautical nervousness to come and conquer. This is a wonderful life building exercise.  Please contact Reid Bowlby or Gail Regan on participation or just show up.

IUGLS Public Meetings on Water Level Issues

International Upper Great Lakes Study (IUGLS) Board is having public meetings to review and seek input on its approaches being considered for water level regulation in the early part of August up and down the Bay. This is part of the dialogue that the IUGLS is encouraging and that GBA as well as PaBIA are supporting in an effort to secure consultation from all constituencies on the Bay. If you want our area to be a part of the solutions, then please consider attending.  Please see the IUGLS website for dates and locations.  There is also a Progress Report on the Phase 2 for those interested in reading more about this.

For All Photographer Enthusiasts!

Over many years, many have shared their photos with PaBIA.  In recent years a few have taken the bulk of the photos you see in the Yearbook and our thanks to Peter Watson, Dave Hitchcock and Kevin Ballon for their time and talents to help make the Yearbook the treasure that it is.

We are looking for people who enjoy taking pictures of our special little paradise. Your pictures could be used both in the Pointe au Baril Islanders' Association / Ojibway Club Yearbook or on the websites. We are looking for folks of all ages - from teenagers to already-retired. You can take the pictures, be involved with editing or manage the process of collecting and distributing the pictures. Come join the fun!  If you are interested, please contact Peter Watson

Be a Good Steward on the Bay

Remember that the Bay belongs to all of us...and it behooves each of us to take care of it as we would our own island.

If you come across trash either in the water or on Crown Land, please don't leave it for others to pick up.  Take the initiative, be a good example for your children and grandchildren, by teaching them it is always better to leave a place better than how it was found. Let's keep PaB pristine & natural for all to enjoy!
