PaBIA Naturalist - Sunday, July 17th
11 AM
Paradise Under Fire
Impacts of
Water, Rocks and Pests
In the Ojibway Movie Hut
When we look out, we see three things of beauty: rocks, water and
pine trees. Ever thought about what would happen if the trees
were to be wiped out by pests or disease? Has the foliage on your
trees gotten sparse or needles changed color?
Will Byman, Forest Health Technical
Specialist, Ministry of Natural Resources, will give us an
overview of both past and present insects and diseases of trees in
the Pointe au Baril island area, how to
recognize trouble and what you can do to keep your
forest healthy.

If you haven't seen your dollars at

was over $4000 but well worth the effort to get it operational before
the beginning of the boating season. Thanks to Graham Smith,
our Maps and Marker Chair, for quick action this Spring!

PaBIA Markers
The Marine Patrol has had numerous reports of broken
channel markers already this year that appears to have occurred as
boaters cut too close to the markers. Please do your part and
ask others you know to insure that there is a clear and safe distance
between marker and boat. The damage to the markers is not only
expensive to PaBIA ($100/marker) but the absence of it is an even
greater danger to any boater that follows.
